MY BLOG

While attending graduate school at George Williams College in Downer’s Grove, Ill I actually entertained thoughts of studying psychoanalysis. Analysis, of any kind, has always been a passion of mine. Two things prevented me from delving further into that profession; first, analysis of any kind requires patience. Secondly it requires more right brain participation than left brain—more art than science. I’m a born skeptic (one who must see evidence before I believe as apposed to believing in something before seeing the proof). Optimism is a wonderful thing, a concept worth embracing but a concept needing a strong dose of reality mixed in to keep it grounded. Now, I was talking about analysis being more art than science, therefore, I guess by my own admission that makes me more scientist than artist? I still like to analyze stuff.

When reading blogs, especially geopolitical blogs, the reader tends to get two views or perspectives on whatever topic is being discussed. You will read the writers opinion or you’ll get just a plain news story. The newspapers and weekly newsmagazines can’t possibly print everything that’s going on in the world and they don’t try. To fill in the gaps we have blogs (millions), newsletters, websites (hundreds of thousands) and books coming out weekly by the hundreds. What makes my blog different is my passion for analysis. There is always cause-and-effect, but what is at the basis of the cause and what will the effect likely spawn? The truthful answer to that is, ‘I don’t have a clue.’ But that doesn’t keep me from making a stab at analysis.

My interests, therefore my blog will remain focused on Iran and that countries apparent incessant ramping up of their nuclear ambitions. Sunday I will follow up with more analysis regarding Iran.
